Why clean your gutters before the rainy season

Gutters collect rainwater from the roof and carry it away from your property. When they fill with leaves and debris, water overflows and can damage facades, paint and foundations.

What to check

That there are no piled-up leaves, that water flows down the downspouts without clogs, and that you do not see water spilling over the edges during rain.

When to clean them

Ideally before the rainy season starts, and again after heavy storms or if you have trees nearby.
